Singing Babuski

This year's second place winner of the Eurovision was a group of 6 grandmother's from a small rural town in Russia called Buranovo. They are called Buranovskiye Babushki (Grandmothers from Buranovo) and they sing in Udmurt a dialect similar to Finnish, The Babuski's village is in an impoverished area of Russia and their fame has brought a recognition to the area and that has meant some development and infrastructure improvements. The 300 year old town now has street lights, a new water pipeline and freshly graveled roads. Their song "Party For Everyone" has become a viral internet success.
One of the Babuska, Natalya Pugachyova has used her new found fame to find the grave of her father who was killed during World War II. He was killed in a battle with the Nazis in 1942.
