The University of Texas has sued actor Ryan O'Neal over a painting of the late actress Farrah Fawcett done by Andy Warhol. The always arrogant O'Neal is hard to root against in this case. His rationale is logical on this rare occasion. His story is he had known Warhol for ten years when he introduced Farrah to Warhol and the artist wanted to do her portrait. He did two (they didn't require a lot of work) one was for Farrah and one for O'Neal.
When Farrah died he living will donated her art collection to the University of Texas. Farrah had attend the university in the 1960's. The university has one of the portraits but wants the other which is valued at over $30,000,000.
Granted Ryan O'Neal is sort of a putz but he and Farrah were together for many many years and he is th father of her messed up child. The University had a private investigator look for the painting and his sleuthing found the Warhol on the wall in O'Neal's home. He was able to located it by watching Ryan and Tatum O'Neals failed reality show. Didn't this once happen on the Rockford Files?
Madonna the mononymous pop star and shit stirrer has been sued by a group of anti-gay Russian activists. Their suit claims they are offended by her support for gay rights. She has been sued for 333 million Rubles the equivalent of 10 and a half million dollars. Madonna just performed to sold out houses in Russia where she also supported the Russian punk band Pussy Riot.
Frankly Madonna is guilty of the charges. She does support gay rights. Let's face it her fan base is mainly gay men. Love her or hate her Madonna speaks her mind.
There are better reasons to sue Madonna other than her support for gay rights. How about suing her for bad taste or dressing inappropriately for a fifty plus year old woman. What about her dreadful line of clothing? The list goes on but supporting gay rights is definitely not one of her faults.
48 stormy years ago Courtney Love was born. Yup she is 48 years old. What did Courtney get for her birthday? Bad press. It has been reported on this her special day that her ex-personal assistant is suing her unpaid wages. Jessica Labrie worked for Courtney for about a year and claims she wasn't paid and was asked to do unethical things. Um you took a job with Courtney Love Jessica did you think it was going to be a bed of roses? Did she not know who Courtney Love is? The job of Courtney's assistant should be a pre-paid gig because lets face it she is not known for her stability and reliability.
Courtney Love actress/stripper/widow/rocker is a piece of work and likes it that way. It seems to know Courtney Love is to sue her. Universally loved and hated at the same time Courtney is a polarizing figure to say the least. She has been critically acclaimed as an actress and musician as well as being accused of murder and fraud. Her 1994 release "Live Through This" was one of the biggest selling records of the 90's and may have been the high point in her career. Don't count her out though. Courtney always has another trick up her sleeve.
Once again John Travolta's sexuality is being questioned. Two different masseurs have made complaints against him. Both of the claims by men identified only as "John Doe" have similar stories. John Travolta and his representatives have denied the claims. Rumours of Travolta's alleged urges have circulated for many years. The latest claims have been reported by the always accurate and believable TMZ as well as The Huffington Post. This time the claims have rather salacious details attached to them. Details about his behavior, genitals, and past. John Travolta is now being sued for 2 million dollars. Travolta's camp have dismissed the charges and called them fabrications by the masseurs who are looking for their 15 minutes of fame. Is this a case of two different men in cahoots to embarrass a successful actor or a case of "the lady doth protest too much. I guess only time and TMZ will tell.
