Oh That Lindsay!

There is nothing trickier than a junkie or a drunk and Lindsay Lohan is the new poster girl for trickiness! As anyone with a computer or TV knows Ms Lohan has been in and out of jail and rehabs for more years than anyone can remember and she has been given one more "last" chance. Well it seems she has a new junkie trick up her sleeve. An agreement was arrived at in one of her many court cases that she would check into a rehab center in New York but Lindsay has pulled a fast one and has checked into a rehab spa in Huntington Beach, California instead. She wasn't going to be allowed to smoke or bring all her outfits to the New York center and that made her nix the agreement!

Needless to say the prosecutors in Los Angeles are happy with her new trick. The judge in the case wasn't all too pleased but agreed to let the state investigate Morningside Recovery, the center Lindsay opted for.
Who can blame Lindsay? Trips to Disneyland, kayaking and sunsets at the beach that is what detox and rehab is all about right?

Never Slug a Palm Beach Psychic

There are rules in this world, unspoken rules, and Lindsay Lohan has just broken another. Early Thursday morning in Chelsea Lindsay Lohan exited a club and got into a verbal and physical altercation with a Palm Beach Psychic, Tiffany Mitchell. (You just can't make this kinda stuff up)
Doesn't Lindsay know one of the most cardinal of all rules: never have a punch out with a psychic. And what about this Tiffany Mitchell what kind of psychic couldn't see that coming? It all smacks of set up to me. Lindsay may now have violated her parole and still flush from her comeback success!
Let's face hasn't almost everyone at one point wanted to punch a psychic? Free Lindsay!

To Bomb or not to Bomb

Being miscast in a made for TV movie with a bad script can kill a career but it may have revived Lindsay Lohan's. "Liz & Dick" was a dreadful waste of a viewers time and a producers money and it wasn't Lindsay's fault. The script was insipid at best and the direction slipshod. The dialogue in this train wreck was hackneyed at best and the character development was nonexistent. Grant Bowler did a yeoman's work as Richard Burton and was the most believable and fleshed out of all the characters in the 90 minute catastrophe. The secondary characters were all flatter than flat with some of the worst dialogue written since Ed Wood was writing. One has to pity the actress playing Sara Taylor and Sybil Burton as their dialogue was just embarrassingly bad.
Sadly "Liz & Dick" isn't even funny bad just bad bad. The only redeeming factor was Lindsay's make up and hair.
The costumes were also rather disappointing. Elizabeth Taylor was know in the 60's and 70's for her frankly wild and often unflattering outfits in the version of her life they toned it down having her appear nearly pedestrian. Where were the turbans and the Pucci's? Here and there a fur hat would appear but never did Lindsay have that Elizabeth Taylor flair. The only time Lindsay ever achieved a truly "Liz" look was at the end of the evening's horror show when they brought out the 80's hair and shoulder pads.
Lindsay was trying hard you could see but was given so little to try with. Did she look like Elizabeth Taylor? Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Did she capture the essence of Taylor? Generally she did not and it is really hard to fault her as the direction and dialogue was so pathetic. Will this film kill her career? It is doubtful but it hasn't done anything to further it either. What she got was press and as the cliche goes there is no such thing as bad press.

Oh Lindsay, Lindsay Lindsay!

Oh little messed up Lindsay, how could you get into yet another auto accident! Just when the public was behind your rehabilitation and there you go ruining your insurable status. Who do you have advising you, the ghost of Amy Winehouse? I know; its not "your" fault this time. Do you think one insurer will buy that excuse? Have you ever thought of hiring a driver and staying in your damned house at night? This is the kind of shit is what gets your ass fired! You want to be back on the hire-able list you say. Your lifestyle isn't exactly making the suits stand up in attention. Well they are, but not the good kind of way. this is not veryLiz Taylor behavior; it is more like Dana Plato. Snap out of it sister! Do your dammed job and get your paycheck. Go home at night learn your goddamn lines and show up on time. Be nice to the crew and eat lunch with the rest of the cast. Be a proper actor; because you know what? You're no longer a star but a detriment and an amusement at best. When you are once again A-list you can be a pest but until then you need to tote that barge bitch! Good luck because you do deserve it and if can you pull your fucking socks up you will survive. Godspeed Girl!

Lindsay as Liz

Hollywood entertainment sites are abuzz. Lindsay Lohan has been signed to play Elizabeth Taylor. It seems this upsets people. Come on the movie Liz and Dick is for Lifetime! This isn't a-list television never mind cinema. It can't be take too seriously. I am more interested in who they are going to cast as Dick. Maybe it should be that guy from Harry Potter who keeps getting arrested! The thing that kills me is all the comments about miscasting. Who cares; don't watch it! Lindsay and Liz do have a few things in common. They were both child stars, loved drinking, pills and partying and outrageous outfits. If you doubt Liz's taste in clothing Google her in the late 60's. She was as inappropriately dressed for a woman her age as Lindsay was for a court appearence. (see above).  I sincerely doubt this will be the last biopic of Elizabeth Taylor. She was too big a star and lead to big a life for it not to be made into a larger than Lifetime story. One day a really good actress and a really good studio will make her story into a legend. The Lindsay Lohan version will be soon forgotten and rerunning on Saturday afternoons.
